Announcing Jaime Moyer & Maribeth Monroe, and the EDIT Festival!
The GroupMind Foundation is thrilled to welcome Second City alums Jaime Moyer (“Parks and Recreation,” Disney’s “KC Undercover”) and Maribeth Monroe (“The Good Place,” “Workaholics”) as the headliners for our brand new EDIT Festival, a May mini-fest focused on elevating underrepresented groups of improvisers and promoting gender parity onstage.
The Edit Festival will run May 3rd-May 5th, 2019, at the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse in downtown Denver, Colorado, and will feature performances from Colorado-based teams, the Festival Ensemble, as well as Jaime & Maribeth. Workshops taught by Jaime & Maribeth will be held on Saturday and Sunday, and both of our headlining improvisers will be participating in an exclusive access* talkback on Sunday afternoon.
About Jaime & Maribeth
Jaime Moyer is an alum of the University of Detroit-Mercy, The Second City-Detroit, and is a current member of the acting unions SAG-AFTRA and AEA. She is also a former Artistic Director of Planet Ant and current Home Team member. Jaime was awarded the sole prize of Maestro at The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas in 2011. She has appeared on Parks and Recreation, 2 Broke Girls, Jennifer Falls, and has a recurring role on Disney’s KC Undercover. Jaime is the creator of the viral hit “Fancy Catz” which can be seen on YouTube at the Second City Network, and has appeared in several short and feature length films. She can be seen performing weekly at The Second City Hollywood and iO WEST in Los Angeles, California.
Maribeth Monroe is most known for playing Alice Murphy on Comedy Central's hit show Workaholics. Recently, she co-starred alongside Tim Robbin's in HBO's The Brink. She's had recurring roles on both Parks and Recreation and on NBC's new hit show The Good Place where she plays cocaine addict Mindy St. Clair. She's had numerous guest starring roles on shows like Modern Family, Key and Peele,Marc Maron's show Maron, and According To Jim just to name a few. Film credits include: The Backup Plan, Keeping up with the Joneses, the upcoming remake of Jumanji, and Alexander Payne's highly anticipated new film Downsizing. She has taught and performed improv at festivals and theaters all over the country and is amember of the all female improv group Mama's Boy which performs regularly at The Second City Hollywood. Submissions for local Colorado teams and the Festival Ensemble will open on Monday, March 25th, and close on Sunday, March 17th. All applications must be made through the Improv Network. The EDIT Festival is accepting applications from teams with a majority of female players who perform smart, savvy improv that elevates the standard of improvisation on Denver stages. All teams will be asked to submit a 20 minute, un-edited video of a performance in front of an audience.
Please note: male/female duos will not be considered for the 2019 EDIT Festival.

The Sunday afternoon talkback with Jaime & Maribeth is for people who have attended one of our EDIT Workshops (limited to female-identifying players) or made a $15 minimum donation to the EDIT Program via our Get One/Give One option on Eventbrite or through the DONATE page on our website.
